ABOUT VERNE
My first job was at McDonalds. I felt the polyester uniforms needed a little pizzazz, so I pegged the legs of my uniform pants using my mom’s sewing machine.
I also worked at a clothing store when parachute pants ruled and I got a perm to have hair like Prince, but ended up looking like Ducky from “Pretty in Pink”.
I went to Northeastern University and majored in the new program of Visual Media Design. Through the co-op program , I got an internship and eventual job at Boston ad agency, Hill | Holliday. I worked as a TV producer for 13 years and the clients I worked on included Marshalls, Bank of America, and Dunkin' Donuts. I had the opportunity to work with and learn from the most creative industry people.
I made the leap to the production side in 2004. I wanted to be more part of the creative process and be able to bring the creative concepts to life.
If you don't love what you do, you shouldn't be doing it.
(And I love what I do.)
